Joan Cason
Joan graduated from Northwestern University and has studied with several internationally- known artists. Although she has been painting since she was a teenager, she has had more time to concentrate on her art since retiring from the Oshkosh Area School District.
Joan exhibits and sells her paintings in art galleries and in juried shows, where they have won awards. Her watercolor and pastel paintings can be found in private collections in Wisconsin and other states.
Joan particularly enjoys painting en plein air. “Being out in nature, watching the play of light on trees and wildflowers fills me with joy and wonder. For me, painting is a celebration of the beauty of the natural world, of all creation.” Although she has painted on site in many states in the U.S. as well as in Europe, Joan especially enjoys painting in Wisconsin state parks and nature preserves near her home in Oshkosh.
More of Joan’s paintings can be viewed at the following Wisconsin galleries: Coventry Glassworks and Gallery in Appleton and Originals, etc. Gallery in Waupaca, and The Paint Box Gallery in Ephraim, WI, as well as online at: www.originalsetc.com
